Oh wow, part 5 already. This is the second to last post (I hope, I’m starting to pack and don’t have much time left). By the way, all the images at the beginning of my posts came from animesuki, all the screen shots were made by me though.
Chapter 13
Roza had everyone besides our heroes leave, as she suspects the servants of being the murderers. She’s very suspicious right now, but still keeps a cool head and thinks everything over. We can see she’s bitter about being treated badly by her siblings.
BEATRICE and BATTLER show up again. Jessica’s room had no hidden doors, there’s no way to leave or enter besides the window(or windows, can’t be too sure, Chinese doesn’t have a clear plural system) and the door.
George gets angry and worried about Shannon (since Roza also had her leave), Roza then proves that herself is not the killer by stating that if she was the killer, she would have killed them by now.
All the servants are in the kitchen, but they hear noises coming from the back door and finds a person there. It was Kanon. But, he was still alive and his wound looks fresh! They move him to another room to try and treat his wound. He accuses Roza as being the murderer. Hearing that, Shannon runs out of the room. Kanon then stands up as if nothing is wrong.
Shannon comes back with a handkerchief with some spiderwebs on it. She says that she will try it and almost puts it on Kanon’s leg (I will call him KANON now). KANON jumps up before it touches him and kills the doctor and the old maid in the process. He targeted Shannon too, but she was saved by Genji (the butler). Then, with the help of the cook, Shannon placed the handkerchief on KANON, who exploded into golden butterflies. The cook can’t believe what he saw, but Shannon and Genji are calm.
Chapter 14
The servants tell Roza of the deaths, but she doesn’t believe them as they can’t explain clearly how they died (I don’t blame them). But, when everyone arrives in the room, the 2 corpses are nowhere to be seen. Of course, the room was locked.
Roza finds a letter.
The Witch's Letter III 'Everyone of the Ushiromiya family. I guess the solution of the riddle of the inscription of the gold finally came to its climax, huh. The only way you all can stop me is solving the riddle of the insciption. Whatever is the other method that you have, you won't be able to stop the ritual and me. Sincerely, do not mistake the goal of all of you, I'm counting with you. Even if you search me, it's useless. Even if you escape from me, it's useless. Even if you deny me, it's useless as well. -- Beatrice, the Golden. Postscript. I borrowed the two corpses to the ritual. I'll return them to you later so, please forgive me. ... Then, since these keys belong to all of you, I'm returning it."
Along with the letter was Kanon and Kumasawa’s keys.
All the keys for that room, the servant’s room, are secure in the key cupboard. There’s no way to enter or leave the room besides the only door and the only window. There’s no way in or out of the room of the above 2 are locked. There’s no way to lock or unlock the door without the room key or the master key.
(Now, I have to say that no one mentioned the window and that since the witch is speaking in present tense that a room key could have been used and returned by that time)
In the room, there is no one besides Battler, George, Maria, Roza, Genji, Shannon, and the cook. Also, in the 2 incidents, there aren’t any humans that you have not yet met. No one is hiding.
Once you recognize BEATRICE, all the mysteries will end. If you have her power, you can create and destroy all the closed rooms.
Roza refuses to believe the servants since there are no bodies, believing that Beatrice bought them with money. Everyone startsto argue with her, begging for her to believe, but Genji acts calmly and gives her his keys. Maria laughs and says that it’s useless since Beatrice can use magic, and at that point, Battler breaks down and admits that the witch who can use magic exists.
Everyone calms down and promises to meet again in the morning, when the storm passes. George decides to go with the servants. Maria promises to protect Battler. Right after they leave, Roza smiles and says that she trusts no one and curses them as furniture. BATTLER begs BEATRICE to stop all this, but she’s having fun and humiliates him by asking him to strip and lick her boots.
Chapter 15 (This is as epic as Jessica’s death, really)
Shannon tells George about what happened and that she heard from Kumasawa about demons being afraid of spiders. They, along with Genji and the cook, try to find ways of countering the witch. Then, Natsuhi’s charm, a mirror, was mentioned (remember in the first game she was going to give it to Jessica in exchange for the scorpion bracelet). George thinks that it might be more than a simple mirror as Natsuhi came from a family of Shinto priests, and he wants to use it against Beatrice. The key to Natsuhi’s room is still with her, so they goes to retrieve it, but Genji stays behind, saying that he must be prepared in case Kinzo calls for him at all times.
Then, some butterflies show up as if to follow them, but Genji simply throws out a dagger and pins them to the wall with almost no effort.
Battler’s wasting time by playing with Maria and realizes that Roza can act cruel because she was treated cruelly. He then feels sorry for her.
Shannon got the key, but then butterflies and goat headed butlers start to show up. Beatrice also appears and mocks them.
They are chased all the way to Natsuhi’s room, where they desperately searches for the mirror. The cook is quickly killed by a stake, Beelzebub.
Beatrice changes into her witch attire and goes on to attack the 2 lovers, but the attack was repelled by Shannon, who summons a pillar like barrier.
Beatrice then summons KANON and orders him to attack, but Shannon is much stronger than him and repels him easily. Beatrice laughs and says that too bad they will die so miserably and with so many regrets, but Shannon says that they, as lovers, has no regrets. Beatrice then tries to argue with them, saying that they haven’t even been together physically, but Shannon holds out her ring and says that they already have eternity together and nothing the witch can do can change that.
But, Shannon can’t match a witch after all, and her barrier falls. She apologizes to George, but he says that she tried her best and there’s no need for that. She asks him to tell her that he loves her, one last time.
“… Sayo, I’ll eternally-”
The witch’s laughter echoes in the room…
