Should I get my lazy ass to AWA 14?
Pros
- A Couple of Friends Are going
- It’ll be my first con ever
- Stufffff (mainly plushies I want)
Cons
- I don’t know if I have a ride yet
- Don’t people hate cons?
- All that STUFFFF will cost me a lot, methinks
AWA stands for Anime Weekend Atlanta. Vote, please?
Well, weighing the pros and cons makes me think YEEEEEESSSSSS. Especially if you can hang out with your friends as well. You don’t HAVE to buy stuff (though your otaku nature and love of plushies will most likely make you) I’m jealous; absolutely none of my friends like anime >.<. And whats this about Hamlet 2? How can you make a sequel to a play where almost everybody dies (including the eponymous character)?
I never been to a con and have no plans to attend, but I think it can be a fun experience. I did attend conferences of the other kind and really enjoyed them because you meet with people who share your interests. Thus, I encourage you to attend
Let us look at your cons.
“I don’t know if I have a ride yet” You’ll find out soon enough
“Don’t people hate cons?” What kind of reason is that? Why do you care what other people think? It is about you, not them!
“All that STUFFFF will cost me a lot, methinks” Moderation is the key. Set a certain amount of money you are willing to spend and have fun
Something is better than nothing, and something is better than too much 
The cons sound less persuasive than the pros, to me. I’m not a convention person, mind you.
Should I get my lazy ass to AWA?
Pros:
- I like anime
Cons:
- I’ve already been to three cons in the past five months
- I don’t have any friends
- I’m cheap and incapable of shopping for anything that isn’t absolutely necessary
- No place to stay
- I may receive an assignment on Thursday that’s due the following Monday
- I won’t be able to go until Friday night at the earliest
- I won’t have my Maid Guy costume ready
If I don’t go this year, I’ll definitely go next year. Believe it.
Well at cons there tend to be a lot of deals so it might be the cheapest place to get all your stuff. Though, you’ll end up spending the same amount of money no matter what (all the money you bring).
You should grow to hate obnoxious congoers all on your own too. That’s how I’m going to do it. Go to a con, complain about all the obnoxious fans, then go again anyway. It is the way to do it!
SO, yeah I think you should go. If your friends are going, I’m sure you can manage to get a ride somehow.

Your real concern to me seems to be only about transportation; the other two reasons aren’t exactly strong points as mentioned by others.

Too bad I don’t have a camera, so I’ll have to use my crappy webcam… Fly over to Atlanta someday!! :] Then you can go with us~ and Hamlet 2 is a movie (comedy) about a play where Hamlet comes out alive from a time machine and meets Jesus. LOL – maybe considered blasphemy to the serious literateurs, however.
