Although I have some problems with this episode, it ended with the best thing that they could have possibly used: a singing extravaganza by the female cast! I LOVE singing (even if everyone around me try to convince me that I should stop), so of course, I enjoyed it greatly.
Over here, it’s snowing outside, just like in this episode. We’re having a record braking snowfall here, in fact, if I sit in the snow, I’m instantly buried. And, we’re supposed to be getting more snow! Yikes (what happened here? Vancouver is supposed to be the only place in Canada where we DON”T get snow, we’re only supposed to have a 11% chance of a white Christmas, and now most of the bushes and some of the trees are buried).
1 sentence summary: Yu meets Yuuko for the last time.
This scene was very well done, oh, if only the rest of the episode was as stylish. Unfortunately, we waste a lot of time just seeing all the characters again.

Yu excels at landscapes but can’t draw portraits, and at the same time the studio did a great job with the backgrounds at this series but had inconsistent character art. Was this on purpose? We may never know.

And the keys make it, a full circle around the world back to these 2. I just wish that they didn’t change Yuko’s pregnancy. See, the as Yuko laid dying, she prayed to god that she would be able to see Yu, at least one last time. And when she woke up iside the church, she had the feeling that she was an entity born form the life of Yuko’s child. I thought that was better explained and more romantic than tacking this angel image on to Yuko, as if she only talked to everyone because of her duty. Oh well, nothing can be perfect.

Aww… the studio redeemed itself (for those low quality minutes wasted on looking at everyone) by having this absolutely romantic and adorable moment with Yu. It was very touching how he struggled not to blink when he was telling her that he was alright.

I thought that this scene was done all that well. In the game, this was supposed to be the powerful moment where you realize that Yu has designed and directed the building of this entire city, that it was a project and most of the inhabitants were only there for this one year trial period (this includes Renji, whose engineer father got them a house there). Instead, we got treated to Yu and Mizuki sharing a moment that was suspiciously romantic and trading lines that are too cheesy for their own good.

The biggest problem with this series: lack of closure. When did Kuze die? What’s going to happen to Chihiro? Is Hiro going to be okay? Why insert the hospital subplot if you aren’t going to say how it ends?
Of course, in the end, the singing made everything better. I absolutely LOVE it when the whole cast comes together to sing (this love sparked off when I heard the idolmaster Christmas song a few years back).
NOW… YOU WEREN”T EXPECTING THIS…BUT HERE IT IS!
EF! GAME TO ANIME ENDING CONPARASION!

For these 3 people, I prefer the game illustrations (the 2 at the top), mainly because it shows how cute a couple Hiro and Miyako are (plus, MIyako looks like a stupid airhead in the last picture).
And yes, that IS Type moon in those credits. I don’t know what they did but they clearly did SOMETHING.

I spy with my little eye… Makoto Shinkai! (he’s the last name in the game ending)
I definitely prefer the anime ending for Kei and what’s-his-name (too lazy to remember). Aww…

All in all, I’m surprised at the fact that the creators even gave her a cameo. She was such a minor character! However, the anime ending picture’s adorable, so I have no complaints.

The game ending is much better this time. Though I have to say that they remind me too much of Eureka Seven.

Aww… this time I’m torn…
Do you know who this person is? Try and guess!
Ah, this series is finally, in all aspects, over! I have to say that it ended pretty well, though don’t think this is over yet! I still have a final review coming!
*looks back…
This is a hell of a long post…
Congratulations on finishing this thing…
I completely lost interest of ef because of the first episode in the 1st season, but I’ll check out the music anyways.
Good job on this huge post~
>> I don’t know what they did but they clearly did SOMETHING.
Guest artwork probably?
@Ail: It’s a romance, you won’t like it.
@Omo: They were listed under the special thanks section, so that could have been it.
[...] Ef a tale of melodies 12: Its over? [...]
Who is that last person? Tell me :O!
I very much enjoyed this episode. Indeed, I liked it how things came full circle. With Yuu and Yuuko. Overall, a happy ending, which is what I like.
Thanks for showing the VN’s ending! That’s cool.
Yes, Mizuki singing that song was great.
It’s Hiro’s editor ^^
