Haruse (I think)
This is the picture that inspired this post, which I just happened to see by chance today. I love just how simple and adorable it is (and now I’m hungry for some mushrooms). Unfortunately, I don’t like the rest of his drawings quite as much…
I can never miss a chance to post a Putidevil picture! Ever since I fell in love with her drawings flipping through the pixiv girls collection, I keep on being impressed again and again with that unique style and the beautifully soft colors. She has also been doing some experimenting, such as in this picture, which really feels like one of Shimeko’s works.
号 (Gou? I think?)
This is also an artist that I’ve only found out recently. S/he usually draws darker pictures, such as this, but the playful feeling of this image really feels natural (is this about mother goose? I’m not too familiar with fairytale). I also love the subtle use of textures, especially in this picture.
And here’s the obligatory vocaloid picture (is that Pikachu?) This was one within the flood of birthday pictures for the Kagamine twins from last year, and it is oh so sweet. This artist never skimps out on the cute stuff, with pictures such as this earning “awww…”s all around. Now, it’ might be a coincidence, but it seems like I really like artists that are similar to Shimeko (maybe it’s just watercolors having a comeback?). S/he (probably a she) has also drawn one of my favorite pajama pictures of all time (yes, yes, it’s vocaloids again).

It is the funniest thing that I’ve seen that appeared in Vancouver because of the Olympics. However, I have to wonder just why they decided to stick this into trains and buses. There are also other things that I’m thinking about, such as HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY’RE THE WORLD’S BEST PICKPOCKETS? THE ONE THING YOU BRAG ABOUT ARE THE PICKPOCKETS? And OH WOW THAT PICTURE LOOKS WRONG.

Err…well…this, and school, etc etc. For some reason, I just can’t play VNs recently, and my anime backlog just keeps getting longer and longer (THIS is one of the major reasons that I like Hetalia: I don’t feel the need to set aside an hour to watch something). On the other hand, I’ve been picking up the old habit of reading again. The Boogiepop series have proven to be quite interesting, and Rumi has gained a special place in my heart (sadly, I haven’t read an American novel that left a lasing impression on my since A Thousand Splendid Suns).

This is a very, VERY rough draft
Now, back to drawing (I have NO experience with drawing dark scenes, Desperately needing practice right now).

You know, sometimes you have a character that’s so popular and drawn so many times that you kind of forgot how and why the original artist made it look so inspiring in the first place. Does that make sense? Anyway, just mentioning it because this is a ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS picture from Huke on deviantart (I can’t believe he actually has a deviantart account either). On a related note, the Black rock shooter will be available for free on the internet (legally), I’m still looking forward to it and hoping that it’s not like the second season of Haruhi all over again.

Is a series of interesting web comic strips by Doomfest, a seriously interesting artist (and from the states too).
Aside from drawing, it seems like Doomfest is also a big fan of VNs, and has even penned and drawn a VN him/herself. The above image is from the next VN that s/he’s drawing for, Cradle song (which has caught my attention with its interesting premise since a long time ago). This is where I start praying for a time machine so I can get a copy of cradle song from the future and play it…. (P.S.: there are a whole bunch of other people involved with the project too, and I’m cheering for all of them! Sorry about not being clear before)
Anyway…
Despite, the not-so-cheery name, Doomfest is an artist with some really fresh colors, and I’m definitely looking forward to his/her works in the future.
(gah, it feels so odd to not know someone’s gender)

This is going to be the last happy moment that they’ll have. Everything’s going to go downhill from here. I just know it. There’s no other reason to have a tea party like this. At least half of them’ll be dead before the end, I know it…………
And HOW did Echo get there?

My mother and grandfather all practiced acupuncture at some point in their lives. In fact, my mother still has her clinic. I know what the needle looks like, which is why I twitch a little every time someone pulls out a gargantuan needle that they say is from Chinese medicine or something of the sort. It is fine in this instance, because needles that thick were used a bit more commonly back in the day (it’s almost unheard of in this century, and I still have to place emphasis on the BIT).
That aside, the current arc of Kuroshitsuji is turning into quite an interesting murder mystery, with a mood that isn’t unlike a work of Agatha Christie. If I had place bets on the murderer though, I’d place it on wordsmith. Sure, he seems to have a perfect alibi, but he’s always checking the body, and the clock that set the time of murder could easily have been set up beforehand. I’m looking forward to seeing the explanation of the murder~
P.S.: Tanaka is awesome.
