It’s a very interesting concept that’s sure to be controversial, and while I think that it can be great, I don’t see much of a chance of this working as beautifully as Aaeru is hoping for. That said, I hold a bit of cautious optimism, not that everything will go well, but that the VN community isn’t going to explode and kill this project in the bud. From what I can see some of the comments are getting nasty already (this is despite what seems to be quite a bit of editing by the mods), but there are some very interesting and insightful comments into the state of the situation. Much of the arguments are about stuff that has been discussed before, but it would be really interesting to see the VN translation groups go down a different route than what’s happening in China right now.

And as a side note: Urinetown is pretty awesome.

Really. That’s it. That’s all I have to say about the chapter. This arc has been pretty weird in both subject matter and development (except for Elizabeth, who was awesome), and it seems like pretty much nothing happened expect a hint at what the next part of the story will lead to. Hopefully, there will be a chapter that will cast some new light in the situation. If not, I hope the next arc will be a bit better…

But playing Katawa shoujo definitely isn’t. I just finished Shizune’s route the day before, and the rooftop scene at the common route is my absolute favourite scene ever (the writer might not like that though XD). Now, as I savour in the irony in drawing fanart of an OELVN when I have my own OELVN to draw, I shall disappear and chase after Lily. LILLEHHHHHH~

Usually I can’t stand the painfully shy type of girl that Hiyorin is. I just read it and want to yell at the screen, EFFING TELL HIM HOW YOU FEEL! Perhaps because they remind me too much of myself.

So when our heroine, finally digs deep to pluck up the courage it makes me insanely happy! And I have to applaud her courage, since I never really had that kind of courage myself. Hubs will tell you I’m a loud mouthed princess who has no trouble telling you what I want now, but it took many years for me to become that way

It wasn’t actually her first confession, she confessed at the fireworks display, but never really got to hear an answer from Yuushin, which of course made her really self conscious. I love that Yuushin basically tricks her into repeating her confession. But I don’t feel that it devalues it in anyway. She still plucked up the courage to ask first.

Of course his reply is confusing though, so he has to spell it out. But I still have to thank the pair for giving me the cutest awwwwwwwww moment I’ve read in a while. This manga seriously is so damned cute.

I haven’t been this fangirly since Tomoe finally realized he likes Nanami. (If you read Kamisama Hajimemashita you’ll know what I’m talking about But of course that stubborn kitsune can’t just tell her!!!! )

Once in while I like to leave my land, filled with youkai and demon butlers and hawt ninjas and just bask in cute romance. <3

On the next day, it really happens…. “

The title says Chaos;Head, and the game is really chaotic. That is to be expected, since the protagonist is a schizophrenic and all. The copious amounts of insanity and gore forms a really odd kind of juxtaposition with the colorful girls and their “moe” settings. It didn’t work at all in the anime, but I’d say that in the game the atmosphere was pulled off very well. The plot, convoluted as it is, is also surprisingly addicting to read, although I didn’t like the characters much (there is pretty much no character development outside the protagonist). The plot progresses as the reader controls the protagonist’s delusions and sense of self. It’s a novel system, but one that is implemented well. I only played to the end of the A and AA routes, not the B route. I am a bit curious, but the way that the game mechanic is designed makes replays quite annoying (if you try to skip, you skip through the chaos triggers, or the choices, without stopping).

I strongly dislike Mutsumi Sasaki’s character designs, and Kozue in particular had just a horrendously freaky face. The Nitro+ CG team did save it a bit, but then the 3D backgrounds didn’t help at all. On the other hand, there are certainly a lot of CGs, and a lot of special effects to spice things up. The BGM was just ok, but I love the opening and insert songs, by Kanako Itou and Sakakibara Yui respectively.

Overall, Chaos;Head is definitely a VN with flaws, but more than enough good points to overcome them. Recommended for people who like their raburabu in convoluted and non-raburabu ways.

So I completely suck at keeping up with anime anymore, but dammit I love ninjas. So if there is one show I make an effort to check out come January, its going to be this one.

According to ANN.

Nobuhiro Watsuki will put his current manga on hold and in June, Jump Square will feature a new Kenshin manga.

The translation talks about it as something of a ‘reboot’ what that means I’m not quite sure. I love Kenshin, I mean I really do, its one of my fave manga/animes of all time, so I’m all for more Kenshin.

But even I’m not sure whether to be happy about this or not. I mean the manga had a pretty conclusive ending, so what is the point of going back and redoing that?

I’d be really upset for instance, if the ending to the manga got changed up. As far as I knew Watsuki was happy with that ending, in fact I’d read it was his preferred ending and that he, like most of us, did not agree with the depressing OVA.

I’ll be eagerly awaiting to see what this whole Kenshin ‘reboot’ means. Rurouni Kenshin Brotherhood?
