Reverse brainwashing

A sneak peek to the art of Sepia tears. Coming this winter. Maybe.

P.S.: If you feel like it, can you please comment on what you think is happening in the image?

  1. She’s going to flee out the window because he’s upset her, and he doesn’t understand her reasoning/methods or something.

  2. I got the opposite impression, actually–that she’s climbing into the room from the window, maybe upset at how long it took him to notice her, because she seems to have taken the time to dress for the weather beforehand.

  3. Man now that I’ve actually started to try and compose music I wouldn’t mind trying to give eternal a few pieces.

That’s what I said last year though orz

  4. Well, it’s snowing and she’s… kinda… dressed for it, so I think that enthor is on the right track. Based on the shadow’s, it appears to be mid-day, so it isn’t a ‘Christmas Eve’ incident.

Hmm, considering that the protagonist is a ways away from the window, I would guess that the window was either opened by the girl somehow, or left open by the protagonist.

If the window was left open, then the girl is berating the protagonist for leaving his window open. If the girl pried open the window, then she’s annoyed because he forgot something.

Finally, since we can’t see anything in the background outside, they are either on the top of a hill in a rural area or on the top floor of a relatively tall building.

    Weeeeeeee, over-analysis.

  5. orz…It’s not supposed to be snowing… That was just some shine on her hair plus those little bubbles for when someone’s flustered (you know what I mean, right? Right?)… If it was snowing then I’d have drawn it behind her (it’s not really possible for snow to fall through the window in front of her…I guess…)

…There’s nothing in the background because I forgot to draw trees…

    …orz…

  6. Wait wait wait none of you guys guessed that she could have bumped her head against the window sill (or the latch which allows you to slide the window in the middle. I don’t know the name of it), while exiting/entering?

That’s my guess. If I had to pick one, I’d say exiting outwards, to explain why she mistimed the exit.

I don’t think it’s a modeling scene since one wouldn’t use the window like that.

  7. 1. she was sneaking in through the window to give him a surprise but he was already inside?

    2. she left the key out and got in through the window after much trouble when he was home the whole time and could’ve knocked on the door.

    • on a side note, i visited Team N33T’s site and looked through info on Sepia Tear and stuff Eternal wrote. However, I couldn’t find any contact information.

How open is this project to people interested in joining or contributing?

      • Eternal’s e-mail is in the first post. I’m pretty sure he’d welcome any help he can get. I’m taking care of the character art, and the script is close to finished, but everything else is pretty much severely lacking (BGM, backgrounds, art insertion, programming, etc etc etc).

  8. Okay, this girl obviously ALWAYS says that she’s going to kill herself. Whenever she’s mad, it’s always “That’s it! I’m going to kill myself! I’m really going to do it this time!”

Obviously she never actually goes through with it, and this kid clearly knows it, is used to it, and now views her whole little act as a nuisance.

So here she is, bitching about how she’s going to kill herself (by jumping out the window), and this guy is just thinking “oh great here we go again.”

Sepia Tears doesn’t have a programmer yet? I could help with that, especially if the two of you are fine with using the Ren’Py engine. Depending on the setting, I might be able to contribute some Umineko/Tsukihime-style ‘blurred photo’ backdrops, depending on the setting and whether or not that’s the style that you’re after.

  10. fufufu… I love reading these comments. It makes me wish it were already summer so that I can start marathoning through all of the stuff I was supposed to do.

AfroSquirrel: Programming help could come in very handy since I can only do the absolute basics. If you’re up for it you can send an email to “admin[at]ephemeraleternity.com” (not that it matters much since I’ll reply with my personal email anyway).

Also, don’t mind the self-proclaimed dev blog, it’s obvious that I can’t actually maintain it. I’ll still keep it there to post updates when the time comes, but I’ll probably get a proper website for ST this summer, so don’t worry about that.
