FANTASTIC.

The beginning put me off a bit. First, Battler’s appearance at the beginning really threw me off. And then, I saw…

Yeah. I saw this earlier on the internet, but I had assumed that it was fake… Turns out Ryukishi07 really did recycle the faces… But anyway, soon enough, the story was so intriguing that I didn’t care anymore. The romance, the tragedy, the madness, the irony, oh, it was completely delicious. Of course, as you can see from the picture, I also ship Lion and Willard! Yes, there was only a couple lines of character development for them, but it’s adorable enough to not matter~ The tension was very well crafted in this chapter, especially in the tea party, and the revelations of the truth are fantastic, like always.

What goes on at the end, however, worries me. Battler’s promise of a complete ending without tragedies seems too good to be true, especially with Trollkastel and her declaration that there is no happy ending.

Aren’t they cute together? For those of you who don’t know, one of these two characters may or may not be female. Ryukishi07 has tried very hard to keep it vague~ That in itself is just amusing, but coupled with the reaction from the internet, it’s quite fantastic.

On a non-related note, Ayumu from Hoshikaka is completely adorable. From what I can tell, he has a larger internet following than any of the girls. Oh, the irony.

Randomness

Err…school seems to take up more time that I remembered, so…yeah. The above, when finished, will be the award for the contest 2 weeks ago.

Umineko is getting ported to the PS3, that’s a bit sad because it can’t be cracked and seeing CGs and whatnot will be a pain (I’m still waiting for that CG pack for White album!) The op song is nice though, even if the graphics/video aren’t that great (why aren’t they hiring those fan animators who can do something better for cheaper? Wait, don’t answer that)

I’ve finished the kuudere (Aoi) route in Hoshizora no memoria. It was…OKAY (I heard that it’s one of the weaker paths though). Basically, most of the path is trying to get her to be dere (not that interesting), then she’s completely dere in a second, gets mad at Chinami (the twin tailed one), leading the protagonist to avoid her a little for a few days, which is when she goes through that whole “OMG HE DOESN’T LOVE ME ANYMORE LIFE HAS NO MEANING” thing. Turns out she got her kuu because she moved, which makes me want to slap some sense into her and tell her to suck it up and move on. I went through 6 schools and 3 languages in 7 years and I don’t tell everyone to go and die. Sheesh. It’s interesting though. At the beginning, Chinami was the loud and annoying one, and Aoi was the one with common sense, but the roles switched (Aoi’s seiyuu is much too squeaky when she’s emotional). Chinami was really wonderful at the end, and I’m really curious for her path now.

Another thing is that I’ve started on Yosuga no sora (trying to finish it and write a review before the anime comes out, completely futile, I know). It’s nice, and the BGM and BGs are really, really wonderful in comparison to Hoshizora no memoria. This girl makes me cringe though. That expression looks like a Yandere about to snap. Seriously.

On a non-related note, while I haven’t spent much time on the computer, I have been watching quite a few documentaries. If anyone’s interested in the film industry in Nigeria, Nollywood Babylon is very interesting.

Stuff I wonder why I didn’t draw

For reasons that I can’t quite remember about, I ended up flipping through my old drawings. As I expected, I dislike the vast majority of them, but there’s a few that makes me go “how come I never finished and colored this?”

Yes, I’m spamming random stuff. It’s summer vacation. Sue me.

Ange, Ange~ She’s my favorite part of Umineko, and this is the best picture I’ve ever done of her (although I haven’t tried recently). Maybe it’s because I never draw faces like that. Seriously, most of the pictures that I like from my older drawings look good by pure luck. Continue reading →

Father? FATHER?

"Beatrice was born for father. Please allow me to be of use to you."

So, let me get this straight. Beatrice is dead forever, but Battler made a new one, who ended up having a Belldandy-esque personality and a Rozen maiden-esque need to please “father”? Where’s my squee moment? I feel the need to slap something right now.

"I-.........I want to love ojou-sama...!!!" "Yes, I love her!! I love ojou-sama more than anything!!"

Ah, there it is! He finally saw the sea!!!!!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeee~

This is probably a good time to start studying for my final exams.
