Naruto Chapter 407 – Asking Naruto

Seriously she could be Ino’s twin!

Well I was just going to do 407 and 408 in a double post since not too much happens and I’m so late with it. Sorry about that by the way, I’ve been plagued with low blood sugar all of last week and that tends to make me very lethargic. Anyhoo down to the chapter, once again no Sasuke-baka YAY!

Shikamaru and Shiho are still attempting to decode Jiraiya’s message. Shika is adamant that Jiraiya left the code for Naruto and that he must know the key. He asks Naruto to tell him anything that might stand out, no matter how small.

The only thing Naruto says that has been bugging him is why there is only one katakana. It turns out that what Shika and the codebreakers had thought was a number nine, was actually the katakana for ‘Ta’.

They figure that the key must be connected to Jiraiya’s books and Kakashi enters holding a copy of Icha Icha Tactics, saying it must be the one they are looking for. Thinking that the Ta was probably referring to the Tactics volume of the Icha Icha series.

Shiho says that some codes that use books go by character order or number of lines. So she says they should start with page 31 which is the first number. Kakashi asks what comes next, so Shiho tells him they need the first character, but tells him to read the whole page so they can get the meaning. Which is awesome since it leads to a very embarrassed looking Kakashi as he ends up having to read from his smutty book in front of Shiko, Shika and Naruto.

Kakashi finds out too much ramen means a trip to the toilet

So the message turns out to be “The Real One Isn’t There” of course they have no idea what it means. But even so they decide to take what they have found to the fourth so she can call ‘Fukasaku’ who apparently fought Pein and so might know what the message means. Shiho asks if she can go along and Shika says its okay leading her to get very excited.

Leaving Konoha we see Pein, Konan and Madara sitting in a room, Madara is saying there appear to have been delays. Pein says that he had an uninvited guest and Madara talks about how powerful Jiraiya was. Pein however says he finished him off and is ready to go after the nine-tailed fox.

Madara says that now Pein has killed Jiraiya, Konoha will be looking out for him and the more time they give them, the more chance there is that they will come up with something. He says they need to move now before things get harder, prompting Konan to say that Pein is invincible and he will get the nine-tailed fox no matter what. (YAY say thank you to Konan Pein she just jinxed you, which is good for Naruto 🙂 )

Madara says he has sent Sasuke after the eight tailed beast and Konan asks if Sasuke can do it. Madara says he can vouch for Sasuke. The final page shows Pein and his other bodies, he tells Konan to get ready, they are heading for Konoha.

Hmm I guess now its all written out, quite a bit happened after all. I have to admit I didn’t think they would hit Konoha quite so quickly so it will be interesting to see what happens. I’m sure the battle will take a little while and we still have the whole Sasuke thing to be resolved, so we’ll see what happens.

  1. Awesome post as always~ I LOL-ed @ the “Kakashi finds out too much ramen means a trip to the toilet”

poor kakashi… great making me hungry as always. First it was the cookies, now it’s ramen. ><

  2. Thanks, oh that picture was just made for a funny caption wasn’t it!

Yeah poor Kakashi, I love comedy, but sometimes I’m like aw c’mon he’s super badass, why is he the comic relief!

Aww sorry! I’m taking the cookies to work today btw, they came out great.

And tonight, some vegetables, a boiled egg and a packet of Sapporo miso ramen, some fresh green onions and I’ll be having a yummy bowl of steaming hot ramen ^-^ I heartily recommend that flavor btw, its the BEST!

  3. Quick run to the store and get some miso ramen, it will cure the rumbly belly!

Of course its not as good as the fresh ramen from the food court in Mitsuwa, that seriously was the best ramen I’ve ever had.
