[LWC 66] Musings in Anime Music (16): Natsume Yuujin-Chou

The piano pieces in this anime I am particularly fond of. At times they have a Hisaishi-esque simplicity as well as a Muramatsu-esque swing feel.

This one is played in episode 7, around 19:50. The actual length of the piece is much longer. There’s a second ending to this first part, and then multiple ends to that one, and so forth and so on. This is just the blatantly subtle part that reminds me of this Hisashi piece from Spirited Away.

This the second piece, from episode 6 at 10:30. It kind of reminds me of the piano music from 5cm. It was weird though. Right after it was done, it repeated, but I was anticipating it to be in the parallel minor key. That would have sounded like this.

I can’s believe this, for the first time in months I’m actually writing an episode post (Code Geass doesn’t count )…….. The power of Clannad is strong……..

My friend and I were watching it together, and besides the fact that we were both giggling all the way through, it was a really enjoyable first episode. Sure, it’s not as funny as getting locked in a shack with Kyou, but this was seriously funny. Especially this.

1 sentence summary: Everyone goes to play a baseball game with hilarious events and a bit of heartwarming fluff at the end. Continue reading

Is this signaling some kind of trend where a flat chested girl just isn’t marketable anymore?!?! What a cruel and unjust world…..
