Clannad FV: Cleared! But who cares about that?

moe 67230 sampleAfter years, YEARS of waiting due to the Chinese translation team going on a very long hiatus, I’ve finally completed Clannad. To those who don’t care, skip the rest of this paragraph. To those who are wondering at how long it was: it was 40% finished in August of 2005, 60% finished in December of 2005, finished (aside from Kotomi’s path and the after story) in October of 2006, with an announcement of a completed patch soon after. However, afterward, Clannad got a voice patch, and the team started inserting the text all over again, this time, very, VERY slowly. Another team finished Kotomi and the After Story, WITH voices, and released it as a separate patch. A patch for the entirety of Clanand was released a few months ago, but it wasn’t official, nor was it compatible with the Full Voice version (which is the one that I have). A COMPLETELY FINISHED patch was finished only this March, which is really a long, long journey (please tell me that someone got this joke).

Now, I’ve watched the anime already, I’ve seen the Kyoani magic at work, laughed a lot, and cried a lot, so why play the game?

“I love you, so please don’t be so kind of me…”

4 things that I want to type out

#1. I got a puppy named Coby and I’ve been too busy spending time with him, so much so that I haven’t watched a single episode of anime, let alone write anything for this blog.

sneak!#2. Another reason I haven’t wrote anything is because I’m working on the characters for CCY-senpai wa 17sai. The above image is a little preview of a certain character, so please give the game your support!

f17a0e08f02ccc31e9248808#3. ANOTHER reason that I’ve been behind on things is because I’ve been playing Angelic Serenade, but it was pretty bland and not worth the effort. If you’re one of those people who really liked what it was like in the olden days and enjoying taking jobs, stat building, and actually waiting for the characters to walk everywhere before you can get to the story, then maybe you’ll like it. Personally, I’ve never liked any of Kogado‘s games, Symphonic rain was okay, but Dear Pianissimo was just bad…

#4. I’ve been playing Clannad FV. Kyou’s path is pure awesomeness, detailed post is coming soon.

The progression of Clannad AS

vlcsnap-191991Let’s face it, the pacing of Clannad is really slow right now. After 23 minutes worth of episode 17, I felt like they’ve given me 2 minutes worth of information. Tomoya has changed, Ushio doesn’t have a relationship with her father, and the Furukawas are still kind, caring people.

So?

Right now, I feel like they’ve run out of material for the next 7 episodes and is now trying to spend time by showing excessively long scenes of Ushio and her deformed arms. She’s cute and all but her arms are hideously looking and she reminds me of Fuuko, I really have no interest in when she wants to go to the washroom or whether she likes fried rice or not. Yes, there’s a need to develop the relationship between Ushio and Tomoya, but why can’t be done in any other way? Or better yet, a faster way?

That’s what I thought an episode ago, but boy has my mind changed… Continue reading

I’m alive!

And I’m not talking about the ending to Kuroshitsuji either. Now that my provincials are over all I have to worry about is my language credits, which has the test in 2 weeks. That means I have a bit more time to catch up on things (like the 5th Kara no kyoukai movie and Clannad).

img_2663To accompany me is 6 pounds worth of Chinese candy (which has the potential to be  better than western candy but sadly has weird things like ginger chews and preserved lemon).

Be prepared for artbook reviews, stuff about c75, some stuff about Clannad, fangirling over 07th expansion, and jokes about sunrise.

I’m looking forward to it.

At least she didn’t die

sakura1This ALWAYS happens! Whenever I REALLY like a character, something bad’ll happen to them. This started all the way back to Sailor moon. I liked Tomoe, but then she just HAD to go and kill herself.

You can keep reading but just keep in mind that there are a lot of spoilers here.

Clannad after story 8: Aww…

vlcsnap-201805Seriously, that’s what I was doing all episode: going “awww…” at everything. The NagisaxTomoya pairing used to be cute, but now they are downright adorable with powered sugar thrown over the whole thing. Kyoani moved the quality up another notch, and the episode looks absolutely stunning, not to mention the fact that it was very moving (I’m not the only who felt teary-eyed at the end of the episode, am I?)

1 sentence summary: Nagisa gets sick and ends up have to stay behind for yet ANOTHER year while Tomoya graduates.

I’ve figured it out…

Alto hime is really a reverse trap, that’s why he didn’t end up with the 2 girls in the end.

Mikhail didn’t die. He faked his own death and then turned into a shouta so that he’d be more popular with the ladies win Alto’s heart.

EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW…

P.s.: Screw young Allelujah, Ciel, Hitsugaya, and every other little boy anywhere, Shima’s the most adorable shouta that has ever existed!

Clannad AS ep 4

Ugh, after watching the first episode in wide screen, this just doesn’t feel right anymore…

1 sentence summary: Sunohara rescues Mei from the harassement of the soccer club and everything is fine again.

This episode was good and concluded this arc. When Sunohara charged in to save Mei, I actually felt a little tear in my eye. But the most important thing?

MIsae’s story is getting animated next!!!! YAYYY!!!
